Bosch Dishwasher Dead after 2 months
« on: December 27, 2016, 10:44:22 pm »
Well I bought a slimline Bosch as mentioned on another thread, provided sterling service, until xmas eve. A load of glasses etc was in to be cleaned for xmas dinner and I couldn't here the Arms moving. Opened it to see a foam party and I had to scoop out the water left behind  :censored: and re wash with another tablet (different make). All was fine

Xmas day comes and 6 loads were done in total, everything was fine but when the drain pump started I could here a slight squeak. Thought nothing until the next day. Load went in, 30 mins later when the cycle was supposed to have finished the check water light flashed and the machine flooded everywhere. I had to scoop out what was left too.

Now I have to wait until Tuesday for an engineer to come out as apparently my pump has gone  :dead-dyson: shocking considering I have only had it since October 20th.

I had a Bosch dishwasher they came out to after a couple of months and pronounced dead. They replaced it with a newer model but after some issues I had had with a KAN58A55GB American style fridge as well I hoofed it and got a Smeg one that has been alright.

Bosch used to be the dogs wotsits in appliances, I had used them for years, but not any more. But we also have a steamer they have been out to 6 times and a hob they have fixed once. And the super snazzy iron (the type with a water tank) only lasted a year.

I have used a few of those slimline dishwashers (still have a decade old one in the shop) but clearly something changed at Bosch in recent years and the stuff now breaks down.

I must say the washers still seem OK and the better end of their stuff badged Miele, Siemens and Neff seem alright still (I think all the same firm as Bosch).

Oh dear! I had to replace the little computer on mine but mine is old so I just did it myself. It doesn't clean very well anymore, even though everything works and I clean it regularly...

You never know what your getting now, manufactures like to buy in stuff from other manufactures some you have never heard of and put there badges on them, SMEG are ones that do this a lot, they also like to then hike the price.

Couldn't agree more, our Zanussi washer has done a load a day for 8 years, only ever use the 27min 40 degree cycle but a newer one does a cycle in 3 hours at the quickest and struggles to balance on spins.

Just spoke to them again and they won't carry parts with them so they have to diagnose it and come back again with parts. :censored: Good job I had some marigolds under the sink.

Now I think that the computer has gone as when you turn it on all it does is pump, even when there's no water in, so I chucked a bucket of warm water in and it pumped it out fine with no leaks. But it won't stop pumping.

Just hope it gets fixed soon as i hate the washing up! :'(

Put a normal one in there and run a Generator or an inverter.

I had a slimline and a 4KVA Generator.

 :boggleeye:

Where, space is limited in a van and so is water and waste  :icon_nod:  We do take the mini washing machine when we go for 2 weeks ( full size awning) and the little twin tub and genny when we go to Rutland ( wash the sweaty cycle gear) (porch awning) but all that water has to be fetched and emptied.

I'll wait until they start building them in, theirs just no room, plumbing the washing machine in is bad enough and theirs always Mrs Madrat  :underchair: don't tell her.

I made the mistake of buying a bosch drill bit that was so good it could drill anything. Took me 45 minutes if sitting on the drill to make one hole in my 1920s bathroom tile. :censored:

We have a bosch dishwasher had it couple years, bought it used, Used to keep blocking on the drain pipes down the side because there the worlds smallest pipe ever and twistest and it just kept cloging up above some sort of pump that moved up and down, however it hasnt asked for any rinse aid in a couple years now ands eating salt!
