My name’s Allen and I was a self employed vacuum cleaner service engineer up until 2006. After recently clearing out my garage I came across a number of mainly unused parts and am offering them for FREE to any forum member who can collect them from the Bury St Edmunds area.

I see that a number of you collect and/or refurb older vacs and I’m sure one of you could make use of, at least, some parts.

I’m new to the forum and plan to introduce myself properly later, but in the meantime below is a list of a few of the parts, some of which are still in their original unopened packaging. All parts are pre 2006, with some older than that.

For Hoover Models
Junior White Furniture Guard,
Nozzle Cover.
1346 Front Cover (Grey),
Junior Round Belt,
Upper and Lower Cord Protectors,
Red Switch Buttons.
Turbo 1 Belt,
Turbo Bellows,
Turbo Junior Base Bag Support,
Turbo Junior Handle Rear Support,
Turbo Cord Hook and Bag Slide,
Turbo Cord Hook Springs,
Purepower Belt,
Purepower Rear Wheels,
Purepower Height Adjustment Knob,
Purepower Switch.

Most Turbo and Purepower parts are genuine.

Various Electrolux Belts and Filters,
Carbon Brushes to fit Miele Lamb Motors,
Vorwerk ET20 Carbons,
Sebo 450 & 460 Belt and Brushstrip,
Panasonic MC-E43 Floor Nozzle

It’s not possible to list everything but that’s some of them plus I have a number of packets of unopened Paper Bags.

If anyone is interested in collecting let me know.

Blimey welcome, that's quite a list!

So tempting! I'm off to peterborough next friday for a car show... I wonder how much of a diversion you would be, got a postcode I could use to see? Would it all fit in a laguna small estate and leave me room to sleep in it though...

Hello there Beko

Thanks for the interest. Since visiting the forum I've had a look at your strip down and refurbs with some of them bringing back memories of machines I was repairing 25 years ago. So I did wonder if you'd be interested.

My postcode is IP31 1NJ and we're about one and a quarter hours away from Peterborough. It's down the A1 from Peterborough until you pick up the horrendous A14 between Huntingdon and Cambridge. That road is a pain in the butt at the best of times, but next Friday, the end of the Bank Holiday week, I dread to think.

Shouldn't be a problem fitting in the car boot, most items are small and are stored in a 84cm x 44cm x 20cm box. If you are going to take the paper bags as well they are in a box 42x33x15.

As you've probably read all parts are pre 2006 when I packed up. Most parts were sold off shortly after that but suprisingly came across these when clearing out the garage recently as we're looking to move house. All I want to do is let someone who could make use them, have them. The other alternative for me would be binning them.

If you don't fancy the journey from Peterborough how about a family day out at the seaside sometime, Felixstowe is only 45 minutes from us.

Anyway let me know if you are thinking of coming next Friday.

The other alternative for me would be binning them.

If you get to the stage of binning them, I'll send you a prepaid courier label and we'll have them.

But let the chaps here have the opportunity first and use that as a last resort. Welcome to the site.  :tiphat:

Mmm your right, popping over to yours turns my 90 mile trip into 170... I might have a backup, I'm off to a car show (it's shitefest again! I'm expecting lots of cleaners, sold 4 which I'm taking with me), someone might be coming from your way who could relay them over...

But if not, Stuart's plan sounds good, he has the space to store them, and if I do need bits they could find their way down to me! Myself and Stuart would pass the majority onto the collector communities we know almost for postage anyway, what we didn't want for ourselves!

Either way, they must be saved! Stuff like that is becoming very rare. I'm needing some senior bits, luckily Dilys @ autovac has sorted me out, there's very little on ebay anymore

What might be easier is box them, weigh and measure the box, and have Beko shoot over a parcel2go Hermes label for you to print and attach.

All you would do is drop off the box off at:

COOP - BURY ST EDMUNDS
2.68 miles from IP31 1NJ
Mildenhall Road
Bury St Edmunds
IP32 6EN

Which is your nearest one.  :smokin:

Thanks for both replies.  Yes no problem taking to the co-op, was there today funny enough - shopping though.  :'(

As I'm new to the forum I'm don't really know who Stuart is but I'll leave it to Beko to see what he'd like to do.

I got paid today, weigh and measure them and send me the details, I'll pay the postage and have them! I'll share them out amongst the community for postage, I have lots of other bags and stuff to sell, so I can incorporate it with that, and probably find lots of useful bits to keep!

No problem, I'll sort that out after the Bank Holiday and get back to you.

Packed and measured parcel, all fits neatly into a 44x32x32cm box. weight is around 6kg. I say around as it's bathroom scales I've used, but it's certainly well under the 10kg next price.

Awesome, thanks! It sure feels odd doing a hermes to myself!

Could you PM me your email address and I'll forward the label email over when I get it. Don't worry about it until next week though, I'm in no rush and if you drop it off today it'll only sit in someone's van for the next 3 days!
