Whoops.  This thing has already been beko'd, washed and poorly reassembled.

I mean the seal in the cyclone itself.

Ah, yes, cyclone gasket. We sell loads of them.

So.... how necessary is this gasket?  Can I just use some bubble gum or a beer box like gearheads use for head gaskets?

I did flip over the machine and squirted some silicone lube on the relief valve.  It was sticking and irregularly going off when blocked but a bit of silicone seemed to make it more reliable... it also made the fluttering louder.  I suspect that MVacs was right in the first post!  :grinn:

Sounds like you're describing the suction release valve.. make sure you're getting suction to the hose when it's extended.

If it only happens when it's reclined and the hose has not been extended, you've got a clog in the lower air passageways.
