Well providing the person who i may be buying a DC01 off doesnt reply i should be getting a DC24 -
It says in the ad that the front brush doesnt spin - is there any common fault for the brushroll on these that it *might be of course it could be anything electrical... but are there any common faults - as of yet i am not getting the dc24 but providing the 4 month old advert for a dc01 doesnt get back to me (extremely hihghly likely they dont reply) then the dc24 is coming my way

Could be anything!

- Brush needs resetting
- Brushbar is loose
- Blown brush motor
- Blown pcb
- Blown brush motor and pcb

The brushroll motor is the usual culprit.

As MVacs said, the brush motor is the usual culprit (if the PCB has already been reset).

Another issue is the wiring loom to the yoke, but the DC24's don't fail as often as the DC25's.

Worn drive cog is another common fault

Sorry to mess you around...
DC24 bloke got back and had sold the machine.
the woman with the 5 month old advert still has the DC01 *Miracle* so im going down to pick it up in a min - needs new soleplate - don't know wether its swivel or fixed yet
