how to replace filter lid on DC28

Hello,
I need to replace the filter lid that holds the filter in that is under the dustbin.  The part is number 12 on the third diagram in the exploded diagrams. It is called the cover assembly, part number 917549-01. I bought a replacement part but can not figure out how to take the old one off and out the new one on. Any ideas?

Here's the drawing:



Looks like 917549-01 is the cover assembly, number 13 above. If you look at numbers 11 and 12, they seem to be the hinge and screw that would release it?

Thanks for your quick reply.  The screw comes off easily enough. It is the hinge I am having problems with. I can't figure out how to remove it.
