Smoke pouring out of my DC14!

Hi all
We have just switched our DC14 on and there is smoke pouring out, a loud crunching noise and it smells acrid, just like when electronics go wrong. My question is this, does that sound like the motor or the clutch that has gone?
Thanks
Paul

That is the motor.
