As I start to see more and more DC50's, I am seeing one problem again and again: Blocked cyclones.
There is more detail on my blog post here:
Dyson DC50 Blocked and Hissing – Not Picking Up
.
Has anyone else noticed this?

This looks very bad indeed. I have an older Dyson than DC50 and no issues. It might be user's fault rather than a bigger problem.

I have cleaned out the cyclone and everything else I can think of but it still makes a hissing sound and has no suction when using it in the upright position .......... it has lots of suction when just using the hose
Any suggestions ?

it will be blocked down by the cleanerhead if the releif valve opens when not in hose mode, check the air path from the head to the cyclone

Ha, how small are your feet for a sock to fit inside a DC50 airway!
Glad it was an easy fix anyway, it'll probably block up there again in the future.
