The World's #1 Vacuum Cleaner Advice, Repair, Discussion & Information Forum
It does show how it has discoloured over the years. But better than a sticker flaking off a nicely polished machine :)
Back to the DC01, our main chap, for reasons best known to himself, seems to dislike DC01's and makes this face when asked to build one. I have no idea why, as we all know they are so simple to work on. He has put this one off and off and built hand dryers and built/repaired DC23's and DC41's instead. However, all the bits are clean and dry now, I found an excellent red wand in our stock (that was damaged on our donor), we have a brand new motor, brushroll, bumper, bin and bin insert. We have "as new" [round plug] flex, glamour caps, tools and other sundries. The only compromise will be a brand new grey soleplate and baseplate as red ones are hens teeth. But I would rather a new grey one than a tatty red one. Do I fit a genuine used back hose in original colours or a new after-market all grey one? Thoughts from the collectors and purists welcome. I am leaning towards a nice used one for originality. As soon as we next have a slack day, this one is being built!
How much for a bin mvacs? :) :)

Used ones are cheap of course. I think we only have about six new ones left. And then that's it forever! I'd do a new one for £25 delivered for the next two or three. I'm going to hold the last two back in my 'attic' stock.
