It does show how it has discoloured over the years. But better than a sticker flaking off a nicely polished machine :)

True but I didn't think the stickers looked too bad on MVacs one...

I suppose decision will come down to how the stickers look after the cyclone's been washed!

I'd like to try and have a go at building a Dc07 de Stijl. Using the red purple and yellow theme :)

Back to the DC01, our main chap, for reasons best known to himself, seems to dislike DC01's and makes this face when asked to build one.  ::)  I have no idea why, as we all know they are so simple to work on. He has put this one off and off and built hand dryers and built/repaired DC23's and DC41's instead.  :boggleeye:

However, all the bits are clean and dry now, I found an excellent red wand in our stock (that was damaged on our donor), we have a brand new motor, brushroll, bumper, bin and bin insert. We have "as new" [round plug] flex, glamour caps, tools and other sundries. The only compromise will be a brand new grey soleplate and baseplate as red ones are hens teeth. But I would rather a new grey one than a tatty red one.

Do I fit a genuine used back hose in original colours or a new after-market all grey one? Thoughts from the collectors and purists welcome. I am leaning towards a nice used one for originality.

As soon as we next have a slack day, this one is being built!  :icon_nod:

If the rest of the machine is made from original Dyson parts, then got to be original colour hose in my opinion

See what condition the cleaner head is in? Mine has a small crack behind the bumper. Or I'll have it off you complete if you want? You have a box.  ;D

Shoot me a PM and tell me what you want for it if we have it collected?

It was all quite scratched up, I've put the wand, hose, and sole plate on mine so it's now a complete machine. Selling the cyclone, motor, wand, back hose, (off mine) and a few other bits that I have. The motor looks very good to be honest and the sole plate was stolen off it and put on mine  :)

So we have made some minor progress:

The cyclone is cleaned, scratches buffed out, and here it is with the band on holding the re-glued relief valve while the glue dries. Oh and the new cyclone bin and insert.

A new cyclone bin certainly transforms it.  ;)

You better sit down............

New ones (900658-01 with yellow insert) are fetching £30+ now. Used ones are cheap of course. I think we only have about six new ones left. And then that's it forever! I'd do a new one for £25 delivered for the next two or three. I'm going to hold the last two back in my 'attic' stock.  ;)

Silly money for what it is really but...so worth it for the effect if you are building one to keep  8)
