Remove broken Pre-Filter Catch ~ DY-903346-05
« on: January 17, 2014, 04:31:18 pm »
Our DC07 suffered a broken Pre-Filter Catch ~ DY-903346-05 where the base of the 'Catch' is still in the mounting hole.  I can't seem to figure out how to get the remainder out of the mounting hole.  Can't seem to pull it out (not a lot to grab onto to pull) and doesn't seem feasible to push it on through.  Can anyone offer some advice?

Thanks

Todd

To clarify for others, you have snapped off this clip:

A thin flat blade screwdriver, and push it out from behind is the way to remove that. A short sharp shock from the palm on the handle of the screwdriver.

There's that exhaust pipe that needs removing first to gain access to give it a whack from the underneath.

There's 5 screws that need undoing to release the motor housing and then the exhaust pipe should come free to get to that snapped catch.

Not as simple a job as one might imagine!

Poking it out from the bottom was what did the trick.  The exhaust elbow did have to be removed as noted.  However, I got by by removing only the 2 screws from the elbow unit and also removing the 'lid' to the HEPA filter.  There was then enough play to remove the elbow alone.  Thanks for the help!

You don’t need to move the exhaust pipe, once you have removed the screw, it will prise out, just done it on a DC07.😀
