Problems with DC41 rebuild
« on: February 15, 2014, 12:58:03 pm »
Hi,

I'm rebulding a DC41 after replacing the motor, but unfortunatly I wasnt the one who took it apart and im struggling with a few of the components.

Ive attached a picture below, theres a metal spring a two white 'things'

Any way of explaining where they go and what they fix too.

Thanks

I think i may have soled the spring bit.  does it go in the gap of the grey plastic with the white cover?  there is a screw and a gap and it looks like the hoop part of the spring may sit in between?

Y'know, nobody is too much up to speed with these yet. Most are still in warranty and we don't see many of them.

A few here have stripped the odd one, but any advice you can offer will be most welcome.

I managed to put it together successfully in the end.  so if anyone does have any question regarding DC41 rebuilds feel free to ask.

Nice to think I may be one of few in the know :-)

No i didn't sorry, but in all honesty, it wasn't actually that difficult.  It certainly wouldn't have been if I had been the one that took it apart.

There was just a few springs and clips I wasn't sure of, as per the above message, but i kicked myself when I realised, so most other people probably wouldnt have struggled :-)

Wish I'd found this post when we had one in.
Couldn't strip it down very far & could have done with some help. Pics show what little was achieved.

(PS. There should be a couple more pictures, did get a little further than that)
