DC28 driveshaft

I was cleaning the brush head area of my DC28 and noticed some debris under the driveshaft cover. I removed the cover and driveshaft and cleaned that area up....now I don't know the position that the driveshaft should be in upon reassembling. Why doesn't anyone have any repair/service manuals for these things. Dyson acts like it is rocket science :)
Thanks,
Eric

Could you elaborate or post a photo of what you mean by 'driveshaft' please?
