Picked a funky looking vac out of my recent haul and decided to do a thread!
Had all its tools too
They were first into the washing box
The hose was like new
Then I worked out why, pattern hose. Meh, works well enough!
Stripped the wand as much as I usually do
Switch housing off
Switch and wiring
Switch out
Top end empty
Post motor filter
Bit of flash flare but that went in the bin
Elbow next
Pre motor filter
Whip this seal off
Strip the release valve down
And wheels off
U bend out and Ah!
Green thing is a plastic whatever
Time to flip it over and work from the bottom up (I haven't actually seen under this yet, I just know it runs and the brushroll turns...)
Baseplate out
Baseplate stripped
Belts were so worn I could lift this out with ease without the lifter tool
I grabbed stanley and got cutting
Quick going over of the bristles with my little wire brush and good as new!
Bearings out
Brushroll carrier out
I imagine the brushroll and clog stopped this getting used very much, hence why its quite clean
Clutch cap off
Clutch cover off
I presume this date wont match the build date of the machine? Still, scary to think this is 11 years old now!
Pop the circlips off
And off with its head
Locking tab out
Seal off
and Diverter valve out
Airway cover out
4 Motor cover screws and out comes the throbbing heart of the beast...
Will run some brake cleaner over the motor later to clean it up a bit. It runs perfectly fine, is even smoother after a drop of 3 in 1 on the top bearing
Pre motor filter elbow off
And one chassis!
Cyclone next
Scraped the crusty bits off, dont want to clog the plughole when washing it!
Top screws out
Not too bad
Cyclone seal out
Fins off
Shroud out
I wish these stripped down more!
Dug the rod screw out
Non washables (sad thing is I know where they ALL go without thinking!)
Will get it washed tomorrow once the drying DC07 Origin White is dry in the drying spot!
And to think this would have been taken to the tip due to that clog and brushroll! It did shit all when I tested it prior to stripping it down anyway!
