My second attempt at the DC07 Animal
« on: March 20, 2014, 01:38:22 am »
Our friends at manchester vacs will tell you about the problems I had with an animal I picked up off ebay last year. Well I have decided to find one and give it another go! This one was a complete success, the U bend was blocked with crap and the brush roll was squeaking really violently. So I stripped it down oiled the brush roll unlocked the airways and gave it a really good polish, fair to say its come up an absolute treat in my opinion.

The only had thing is I have to get rid of one because i haven't got the space. I've sold my DC07 precision to my friend, what do you guys prefer? The DC07 animal with a clutch or the precision that's clutchless. It's the one that's dark grey with a black cyclone. Opinions needed as I don't know which one to keep hold of. I have got a non clutched DC04 that i use to groom the carpets up so it won't be missed for that purpose!

The bins look brilliant! How do you get them so clean without scuffing them? Or were you just lucky!

I wash them in washing up liquid, then polish the outside with autoglym automotive polish, then a little spray of wd40 inside and rub it in with kitchen roll.

Brings them up a treat.

Here is a picture of the animal and what was causing it to "over heat"

Just bought some Meguiars PLAST-RX for a tenner. The stuff is brilliant!!! Out of curiosity, I've just found it on flea-bay for £8.79 inc postage.

Thanks for the link, I just ordered a bottle.

What are you using it on, just bins or everything?

Just bins. I'd be there forever if I was using it on everything. It's not cheap either!

Absolutepurplelime, regarding WD40 in bins, I have tried this and the dirt just sticks to the bin and WD40 :( Do your Dysons do this?
I have a DC07 origin which was perfect till I vacuumed up shake n vac and destroyed the thing, a clean up sorted that and the bin is now scruffy :(
