I recently did a clutch conversion on a DC07, and have been asked to quote for the same, but on a DC04. Looking at the parts prices on Machester Vacs, am I right in thinking that the DC04 additionally uses a different back hose and bottom hose for clutched and clutchless models? Are any other parts needed over and above the DC07 conversion parts? If so, it's probably not worth the extra cost. The DC14, by contrast, appears to just need the same parts changing as the DC07?Edit: just noticed the sticky on this topic which confirms that the back hoses are different, so it's just the bottom hose I'm querying?
Dc04 uses diffrent hoses on a clutched and non clutched, however the rear hose on a clutched is just the same as one without the clutch, only diffrence being that one has a rubber tip and the other plastic
Yes, the back hoses are very different, a non clutched hose would fall off a clutched wand, and a clutched hose wouldnt go over the wide end part of a non clutched wand.So technically a non clutched hose would fit a clutched machine, but you would soon see it back with a complaint about the hose falling off. I had a refurb back that had a crappy pattern hose on that didnt have a clip (thought it would be ok, lesson learnt), swapped that out, and chopped the end off the pattern hose ready to fit a proper wand end when I get round to it one day etc

The OPs query was about a clutch conversion, and nothing to do with back hoses.

He tries to put a unclutched handel Into a clutched hose, he said it will always be very tight with it being new. I could hear the cracks of the plastic being stretched on the hose
