cleaning very dirty hoses
« on: November 20, 2022, 04:54:42 pm »
I've got a good number of grusome hoses waiting to be dealt with, I've followed the soak in suds then poke a broom handle with a wet rag through it but unless they are only dusty they are not coming up clean. I would be living in my hoover shed if I even suggested putting them in the washing machine so any other suggestions? is there a secret concoction of chemicals or a method I am missing?
Broken things make me money

Wait until she's gone out for a few hours. We won't tell...
Best to wrap them in a towel or pillow case to avoid any drum damage though.

We have a washing machine just for hoses and filters. No pillowcases, 40c wash, regular powder, splash of bleach or disinfectant in the fabric conditioner bit. Most come out very well.

Hang them over a door for a few days to dry.

I mostly put them all in a bucket with warm water and a bit of washing powder. They come out perfect after that.

I blasted mine through with a hose then put in the washing machine. It was perfect after that and smelled like new
