Author Topic: Safe to operate without clutch assy? (Read 4246 times)

Hello, I've got a Dyson DC07 here... the rollers had stopped working so I consulted Youtube on how to disassemble and diagnose her problem. The problem is definitely the clutch assy, i've got her disassembled to that point, and i just have to buy the part.

but here's my problem, we just bought a 2001 Dodge van, and I really really want to use the HOSE part of this Dyson to vacuum it out. Is the dyson's hose safe to operate without putting the clutch assy and rollers back on?

It looks like the clutch assy doesn't mess with the hose.. but i dont want to do anything that could harm myself or the machine.

I can't afford the $30 clutch assembly for a couple months. any advice would be greatly appreciated, and thank you! :)

That shouldn't be a problem.

Running the machine with no belt connected to the motor wont stop the hose suction working.

Ty! I haven't tried it yet, i just reconnected two plastic pieces that actually finish the connection between the hose and the canister. Now i just have to get the guts to turn it on lol.

now I can vacuum out the van we got and detail her real nicely!

$30 for a DC07 clutch? You could buy a serviceable used one from Man Vacs in the UK for about $15 equivalent and get it shipped to the US for less than another $15-they're not that heavy?
