OK, as I said, the small bracket can be fitted with the cleaner assembled, undo four screws 3 on bracket one holding yoke to ball. Done last night in 10 minutes. Much improved stability of the ball since I changed the two bearings and the small bracket.

Thanks Manvac for the service. Total cost to fix around £15, much cheaper than a new one or for that matter a new wife??

So here we are 3 weeks after the replacement of the YOKE BRACKET and SWMBO says that the handle doesn't tilt sideways like it used to and when you try the brush head lifts of the floor.

Have a quick look and she is right.

So I remove the yoke bracket and find that the top screw when I did it up has expaned the fixed hole into which it goes, by distorting it. I did it up a bit too tight. Anyway I removed the yoke from the ball and dressed the distorted hole with a fine file and reassembled. Now works like it should.
