Hi All,

I have a DC18 to repair. On inspection it was evident that the wiring loom had gone open circuit so i ordered one of these.

Ive fitted it and the brush still wasn't going around.

I removed the motor and hooked it up to a DC power supply as the voltage went up it began turning, so the motor must be fine.

I have buzzed out the power switch and brush switch and there is continuity to the 2 pins where the brush head connect.

I suspect it could only be the PCB or brush reset switch ? but i cannot see any obvious defect on the PCB and there is also continuity between the reset switch.

Any ideas ?

Also, if there is continuity between the top power switches and the brush head connector on the bottom then surely the micro switch is OK too. I think I tested this first anyway

To isolate the PCB as the fault, you will need to rig it up and check the juice is reaching it but nothing is coming out of it.

But if the motor works, and the head is getting power, the PCB is the likely culprit. Damage isn't always visible.
