Wanted - DC01 De Stijl tools 4 cash
« on: August 14, 2014, 09:43:56 pm »
Alright.

Don't suppose anyone has a lovely set of dc01 de stijl tools lying around do they? With the adapter bit and lint strips on the upholstery tool.

If so, how much?

Cheers

We *might* have a brush tool. I'll look tomorrow.

DC01 cable grommet in purple - not likely......needs to be grey now.

Adaptors we have.......

Anything you can do would be great! I'll handle my purple grommit with care then to avoid damaging it any more than it already is!

We have plenty of grey DC01 tools, but I think you are looking for originality?

All I can find that would be suitable for that is these. And the adaptor has a small split in.

Slim pickings here.

Hopefully someone else will have something.

Wow, they must be rare for you not to have much!

I slung a bid in for an upholstery tool on eBay someone linked me to, and think I've found a crevice tool. Interested in the adapter and dusting brush though, how much were you thinking?

Also, and this has had me thinking for a few days, which tool style would a 1997 de stijl have come with? I've seen dc04 style tools (such as your dusting brush) and the older 01 style tools (as per the other dusting brush!)

Which one is correct? I'll have whichever dusting brush you think is correct for the machine, and build the rest of the toolkit around that!

Original DC01's will have come with the smaller dusting brush. But as the larger DC04 one fits, Dyson specified the later DC04 De Stijl one as suitable later on as a replacement part.

As you will recall with the De Stijl DC01 we did recently, I was agonising over tools and cable grommets myself. We ended up using all purple tools and a grey grommet. I would have preferred original dual colour, but they are so rare now.

Indeed, purple ones are rare as well, only that we happen to have one or two bits still. As I said, the adaptor has a small split (that can be glued with pipe weld probably invisibly), but the purple stair tool (on the left) is nice. The pair has to be worth a fiver plus postage. I'll try to work you a favour on postage as a one off I will PM you about.

I was thinking that dc04 tools may have worked their way onto the machines over the years!

I'll take the purple dusting brush and the adapter ta, I await your PM (although happy to pay postage, it is what it is, a small jiffybag sent second class shouldn't cost a fortune anyway!)

As per my dc01 De Stijl instruction manual I bought the small de stijl brush and crevice tool with purple upholstery tool and purple adaptor. I don't use the DC04 tools on the dc01

Ah so they should have small dc01 style tools, just coloured then.

Thanks for the clarification!  I have an all purple upholstery brush, dusting brush and adapter on the way now, just need to find a crevice tool!

As you are all purple tools is your brush small or large. Small brush is small crevice large and large. If you catch my drift.

I have a large red crevice off my 01 de stijl, a 04 leftover.
