I have a dyson28...have never been as happy with it as my first dyson..which is still going strong for my son. My problem is:when I step on the front to bring handle down and engage beaters it will NOT budge...I also had the burning rubber smell, so emailed dyson and did they reset the suggested. STILL cannot get the handle to engage..any suggestions?? my queries to dyson have gone unanswered

Do you mean that the bit you kick down the start vacuuming, is jammed? If so, there is a black lathe near the middle, located under the vacuum, under the brush housing. This can get stuck, so I suggest lubricating that area so it will work better
