DC18 Hepa replacement?
« on: June 08, 2011, 04:56:42 pm »
Hi, I'm a new member and am looking to replace the HEPA filter on my DC18 as the one in there is causing some pretty unpleasant smells. I have a replacement, but can't for the life of me work out how to get the clear plastic housing off in order to get to the old filter without damaging it.

It appears to have to hidden clips on the reverse of the housing and looks like it needs to rotate 10mm also, I've tried with some force but am scared that any extra force will break the housing.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Worked it out in the end, you have to remove the hose clip / cable holder at the back you can then turn the Hepa filter and remove.

Thanks for tip on replacing filter.

Relatedly, as it happens, I need a replacement part of that kind (i.e. the lower cable wrap clip) Can't see it on any of the spares sites. Can anyone help?

We have quite a few boxes of DC18 stuff. I'll have a look on Monday before I say for sure, but we should have one.

Hi,
Can anyone be more specific about removing the HEPA filter.
If we move the slider to the left should the filter cover just lift off?
