Dc25 main motor
« on: December 28, 2014, 02:22:26 pm »
Hope everyone had a good crimbo.

I had a DC25 in for main motor repair and couldn't get the black side cover off. When I did I realised it was glued, see attached photo.

Fortunately I had a spare ball so I just replaced the whole black assembly with the motor already inside.

What is used to glue it back on again, anyone know what that stuff is?  With out having the replacement  ball I would have had to prize it all off and re glue it, so be handy to know for next time.

Thanks
Brett

The glue isn't usual.  It is probably there to replace the locating lugs that have snapped off.

That is probably what has contaminated the motor coils and stopped the motor working then.

Thanks,
