Got a DC01 De Stijl - What's its value?
« on: December 22, 2014, 02:15:40 pm »
I've had a DC01 De Stijl taking up space in the garage for a few months. All I have done to it is pressure wash it's cyclone. It's cable was cut (as most of us know, that doesn't mean anything), and fitted a purple cable with a yellow plug.

Anyway, I tested it out for 15 mins today (as I do with all of my machines before starting work on them) and whoopie doo!!! , no snags apart from it spat all sorts of muck out from the back end (as most DC01's do).

This thing should scrub up pretty good.

Now I normally knock out DC01's for £30 on my stall (to get the punters in), but this is the first De Stijl 01 I've ever had.

What do you lads reckon I should do with it???

How much is it worth on my market stall or on fleabay?

If it is very clean, I'd be asking £75+ for it.

Are you not getting my messages Howard? You would have better luck selling it to a collector to be honest if it's a tidy machine.

I'd say a collector is best, to anyone else its just an obselete dc01.

There do seem to be a few on ebay not really selling for £40ish though, wrong time of the year possibly?

Anyone fancy it before I start buggering about with it? It's taken a back seat again as I've been working on 07's and 14's of which I can make more brass out of. It wants a purple wheel and yellow vanity cap ( I've probably got them in my Dyson cave). No tools. Cyclone blasted through but has paint spots on the outside (as they all seem to have).

And I've got man flu. :dead-dyson: :(
