DC05 Motorhead
« on: December 30, 2014, 01:37:10 pm »
DC05 Machine is 15 years old but has worked perfectly until recently when Motorhead light  goes red after about 5 minutes and brush stops rotating.  After a few minutes green light comes on and  brushes rotate once again.    Suspect Motorhead motor but could there be other causes.    All filters have been cleaned and suction appears to be excellent on unit.    Is there a thermal fuse that can be changed.

Hi,

The motor in the head is over heating.  You need to take the head apart and remove the motor, clean out all the fluff.  If possible blow out any dust in the motor. Check the brush bar ends are clear of crud and rotate freely. I don't have any pictures of this but it usually works.
