Dyson Dc26 City motor please??
« on: December 31, 2014, 11:13:16 pm »
HI guys, I have just found this forum and hoped someone may be able to assist me in finding a motor for the above Dyson? The model part is Panasonic SDS1304GZDC if that helps. Thank you for looking.

The part number you want is 923295-01. It is listed as a 'special order' everywhere, which usually means about three weeks, but maybe more. The motor and chassis come as one unit like so:

Cost would be circa £85. It may be an uneconomical repair unless you can find a used one.

Thank you for this. I only require the motor inside, so yes, this would be uneconomical. Would you know of a alternative motor part number that would fit? If not I'll will just wait until I can find a second hand chassis for sale. Thanks again.

I had mine out earlier, and it is almost impossible to remove the motor housing, it's clipped in internally. Had to use a fairly big flatblade screwdriver to snap it out, with thankfully no damage!

It's one of these

Not a job for the faint hearted though, I only persevered in the name of snappage because I had nothing to loose!

Can measure it when back together if you want. The motor looks familiar though... Same as the DC22 I *think*

Hi, here is the motor from a Dyson DC25. It looks identical to the DC26 one, not sure about the dimensions but they sure do look the same! Will post pics in a sec

I uploaded the pictures you sent me last night to my picasa so we can share them Parwaz

Interesting discovery

DC25 Motor

DC25 Motor

DC26 Motor

DC26 Motor

DC25 motor number - SDS1304GZD
DC26 Motor Number - SDS1304GZDC

I presume the extra letter on the serial number denotes the different motor mounts (which are interchangeable anyway). Mvacs - any way you can check with your contacts?

So, in theory, for your DC26, you need:

My stripdown thread
Patience
and a bit of brute force to get the motor assembly out!
Oh, and apparently mvacs do have some DC26 Post motor filters to list, you should get a new one of those if you're changing the motor!

Hard, nobody at Dyson will cough this stuff up. Some of what we sell we discovered exactly this way. I learned something here!

By motor mount, you mean the top rubber?

I did that today, they are >>here<<. Only pennies below Dyson's price though as the margin is tight on those. Nobody in the UK does a non-gen one yet.

Yes,  I meant the top and bottom rubbers.

Can't imagine there's much money to be made in pattern dc26 stuff tbh,  it's not a common machine is it...

There is one American company that has them. I am looking into it.

I don't see much DC19 stuff, yet there's SOO many of them around, I have seen like a good handful in my neighbourhood alone 😃 DC33 is really popular too, but again no pattern parts. I have spotted a nice DC33 animal on ebay but with a blown motor and missing hose. Would like it if it wasn't for the hose though

Apart from the back hoses, the pre-filters and the HEPA filter:coffee:
