Hello from Dorset
« on: January 28, 2015, 04:39:35 pm »
Hi,

Just after a few tips on keeping my DC01 destjyl running... got it off a freind who'd picked it up for a few quid.. he couldn't get it working and it was on it's way to the tip! I was going to strip it to fix my folks dc01 hepa that needed a new hose, but I found that it turned on! stuck a new belt ( was about twice the size! oh dear! ) and some filters and it's been working great, until the clip on the flap under the canister broke.. taken off the old one just need to fit a new one, already bought! Sadly got a tiny hairline crack on the clip too.. but needs must!

Historically  I worked for Comet, and sold a huge amount of Dysons! we had racking full of them in the warehouse the first few years of sales!

Biggest complaint was that they weren't working... real problem is the floor had never been cleaned so well before and the filters had clogged too quickly!
I still see many a cleaner that only needs light servicing belts/filters.. those are probably the only reason the motors will go.

Was in Bucks at Comet, now residing in Deepest darkest Dorset!

Cheers

Ashley

Biggest thing on any Dyson or other vacuum for that matter is filters and don't fill over the max mark.
