A post motor filter cover from a scrapped DC26? Or a new part if their not too expensive?
Mvacs - need to order a DC25 yolk loom so if you have one could we combine postage when I order the loom next week?

Yep that's the chap. Snapped one of the locking clips trying to crack it open from its plaster dust tomb...
There is one on eBay, but bloody typical we are skint and swmbo is keeping a tight eye on the ship. Unless a lady pays me for a dc08 I've had for 3 bastard weeks now I can't afford it!
Even more annoying that I snapped it as a collector wants to swap it with a lovely turbopower boost which I'm all for... Will see if he's still happy to swap what is ultimately a £80 vac for an old turbopower, I'd rather the TP though...

Are the locking clips not the same as used on the sole plate of other Dyson's?

Don't think so, they look smaller
Holding off buying it for now, the cord rewind springs nearly took my head off when removing them, and I hope the new set that arrives tomorrow have instructions or look more logical to fit... It is a right bastard of a machine, *snip* horrible to strip and reassemble...

I was looking as a DC26 to keep in the caravan, but the wand and hose were just to bulky and unyielding, ended up with one of these off ebay

(Argos return) £15 delivered, its fantastic and everything easily goes back in the tiny box and fits under the bed. Can only use it when we have mains hook up but that's absolutely fine. Would have liked a good old Goblin Rio, would have been able to use it on the inverter then but they are like hens teeth and I think a bit bigger.

Loved this add when I was a kid.

I've seen that vac badged up as a few things now, Argos Value for one! Imagine it blocks the filters up quite quickly though doesnt it?
Rio's are nice, but I agree, they go for fair coin nowadays. Hoover Jet as well!
Nice Hoover Compact? As long as I already have the model/colour so you wont have competition it should be fairly cheap! I have a Hitachi cylinder in the shed that would be prefect apart from the hose end is cracked and it has no tools...

Filter, if you can call it that, is tiny (about 4" x 2") but washable, perfect for the caravan. as its a bagged cleaner the filter blocking wont be that bad. It wont have a hard life, dust, grass, sand that will be about it.

Got to be better than this thing.
It normally just flicks the bits from one end of the van to the other, struggles to suck up a small feather.

Anyone recognise the brand packaging on this? If I can find out who makes them, I can get some.

I've never seen the logo before, doesn't help that it's unreadable...
