Hello all,
I have a Dyson DC05 that I bought and have a weird problem.
The vacuum seems to work and I have good suction at the head but all the dirt and pet hair it picks up does not go into the Dust Bin instead all gathering on top of the washable premotor filter. (See first photo "1 - Result of Vacuuming").
I looked at a video about the filters on a DC05 and my filter looks like it has been put in upside down (See second photo "2 - Filter Mounted Upside Down to Video") but if I copy the video and install it right side up (See third photo "3 - How Video Shows Filter Mounted") it is hard to close the lid as there is a protruding plastic pin which hits the centre piece on the top of the filter and when installed this way there is barely any suction.
The "dish" that the foam filter sits in has more clearance from the plastic pin on the lid when it is mounted upside down to the way it is shown in the video but mounting it upside down means the lid closes easily and there is good suction at the head.
I don't know whether this is the correct model filter that is the problem or there is a another problem with the vacuum cleaner.
Need some expert advice on this problem.
As I said the vacuum seems to work and I have good suction on the head.
Regards,
