Qtex Dc04 brushroll end caps for clutched models
« on: April 10, 2015, 03:37:44 pm »
So my dc04 brushbar was  :dead-dyson: so i changed the brushbar and when i came to fit it i noticed that the edge cleaning brushes where the wrong profile  :censored:
I then tried to remove the ends from my old brushbar and it snapped. So off to the vac stall on my local market (usually avoid but me being me i went anyway). I got 1 new and 1 used. Hardly the best but ok. Then the new electruepart equivalent had a semi circle axle hole. In the end i drilled it out and fitted it. But at the consequence of it clattering terribly. So long story short i am now using the 07/14 end caps.

To cut a story short dont buy Qtex dc04 end caps for clutched models.

I am not quite following this. You bought a brushbar from someplace and the caps that came with it were wrong? If a Qtex one, they are fine. Sold squillions of them.

How do you mean by wrong profile?

I ordered a brushroll on ebay that was Quаltex. The end caps did not fit properly. What i mean by the profile is that  the angle was wrong on the side brush. This meant that when fitted the rear would stick up and prevent the soleplate from going on.
I then purchased some brushroll end caps that were electrupart and the were made to be used with a semi circular axle. So as far as i am concerned all non genuine end caps for the dc04 will not fit properly.

Electrue part only fit Electrue parts. I recall the half moon ends on those.

Qtex ones will swap with genuine, and we have never had an issue with them or had anyone complain about them. Had an issue existed with them generally, I would have brought it up with the MD of Qtex and he would have fixed it as its such a fast moving line and he is responsive to feedback.

Sounds to me like you had a dodgy one or a second. Unless you saw something I never did.
