Is it possible if DC41 metal wands could be made? That would be very good for DC41's as they have a plastic wand as a spine which is rubbish

It would be a very expensive part to tool up for and I am not sure what demand would be like. Also, as they are a recent machine, there may be legal issues making something like a wand so soon.
I suspect there would be more profit in doing DC04 wands as they have just become obsolete.
I'll mention it next time I see the big cheese at Q.
Does anyone else think there would be mileage in those?

Ok, no problem. That does sound like a good idea though.

As for other parts that can be made, I would really really like a dyson brushbar with even stiffer bristles. None of them have stiff bristles except the DC25/40 and the new Eco friendly uprights

There would be demand for dc04 wands, but enough demand to R&D, tool up and make your money back? Not sure...

Well, DC04 wands are always broken. As we know, tool holders and the bit by the cable rewind swivel breaks. We have spent big ££'s buying the last DC04 wands (and other DC04 stuff) we could get.
The aftermarket DC01 wands sell steadily. The aftermarket DC07 ones are picking up too.
I think good DC04 wands will be scarce in 12 months.

If you were going to do it, now would be the best time. I'd not be so wary of dc04s if new wands were available in bulk at the right price point. Then as the last of the bulk machines get refurbed, and demand levels out again they would trickle out.
Would the design still be copyrighted now?

There would be no problem doing a DC04 wand now. It would be an adventurous one for us as it would sink so much money, and they are not small to store.
But I know a man who can.

Would they be grey though, or to original colour combos?
Obviously the costs would spiral...

The DC07 ones are silver with grey fittings. Fittings can be swapped for those that want to.
The only thing would be the two pole types.

You could do them as separate parts, Plastic top and the 2 different metal tubes. I've never had a problem separating a 04 wand with my rubber persuader.

Remove cable holder and wand cap. Turn upside down and hold metal firmly. with big rubber hammer, strike bottom of plastic rim, turn and repeat. Warning, if the end comes off during a strike it will fly and bounce all over the place, especially if you have a hard floor, so do it over an open box with a cushion or similar in it. Also worked on 01 and 03. Tried this on a 07 and the wand was destroyed.
