Forgot to say, I had a dc24 the other week with no reset button on the brush bar just blanked off, when did that happen?

Late model! Happened in 2012/2013 I believe, the brush motor should be spinning slightly slower too and the head clip is red

Correct

Hi, you seem to know your stuff on these machines - wonder if you can help. I've just bought a used dc24. It worked well for a few days, then when vacuuming the rug the brush bar stopped. I tried pushing the reset but no good. Taking the head apart I get 240vac coming onto the pcb but no voltage on the output to the motor. I've checked the reset switch, but the 2 contacts seem to be open circuit all the time, even when the button is depressed. Should these go closed circuit, or should they be normally closed and go open when the button's pushed? I have been told if the pcb his faulty then the motor is too probably. Is there any way I can check this?
I'd be grateful for any info you might have.
