I buffed the wax off

and got my DC03 Absolute+ down from the loft, which has never had as good performance as this Clear has, so did a direct comparison, the video for which is still loading

Missed some damn water spots that you can only see under a bright light

Some light swirl marks remain, again only visible under LED but I didnt want to hit it with the rotary polisher as I didnt want the plastic to react badly and cloud in a ruinous way

As you can see, I stole the switch cover from the Ab+ as it's not as lovely as the clear!

The Ab+ will be stripped again (I'll update it's unfinished thread) to see where the air leak lies now I have the seal locations of the clear to go by, and we shall see if I can make it work any better! The filter are in better condition on the ab+ than the clear, so that should not be an issue.

Here is the video I shot the other night. Even with the removable cover fitted properly it's still pretty crap

A project for another day!

I removed the ruined filters from the clear since Mvacs will have new ones to put in, and it saves me buying the filters from them, and adjusting the price to suit when they will go straight back to them

and put a second layer of wax on

Will buff that off tomorrow.

Ive been using it this morning and yep, it does have an issue. Hopefully a thorough stripdown will reveal where the missing seal is. It has suction, but when you block it off, it doesnt sound blocked, if you know what I mean.

Removing the shit filters makes it 8% better too!

Buffed!

I'm pretty confident that it is as clean as it could be short of machine polishing, and being clear the chances of getting the plastic too hot and ruining it are quite high! It passes the 5 steps test anyway!

Just the wand to get now on payday, will put this up in the loft later for safekeeping and to stop me putting more layers of wax on it...

The wand is the used, broken one. Heavily fortified with glue. Got an unbroken wand with my name on it, when it comes Ill wash and polish that too! You want the broken wand as well or not?

Waiting to pay for it first! I pinched the switch cover from my Ab+ as I have no idea where the one from the clear is, and their identical, so when I find it I'll fit it to the Ab+

The nice man from Vacuum Rescue in Sussex was going to see some friends in Oxford today, and he was the chap I bought the DC03 clear wand from, so he popped in on his way past for a personal delivery! Sadly we were in the hospital with the boy, so money was left in the shed, and it was swapped for a wand, sorry Rich, thanks alot though!

It's not too damaged either. Little crack by the side catches which isn't worth glueing up

There are a few hairline cracks to the very top too (which isn't surprising tbh)

I may put some preventative glue on this part

as it's completely hidden with the wand cap fitted

Of course it needed washing, so wand cap off

Wand cap spring off

Release button removed

Few scuffs on the metal part which should come off nicely

It's all washed and drying now, ready for polishing and waxing tomorrow

We have agreed to buy this machine from Mr Beko. This machine is going to form part of our Dyson museum in our new premises as it is a seldom seen variant. Looking forward to seeing it!

Yep, Im excited that its going to be displayed, would hate to see it used, which is kind of a silly sentiment but using it would ruin it!

If the damn boy stays up much longer Ill be polishing it at 3am...
