Help! missing screws
« on: May 11, 2015, 12:34:37 pm »
Hi all,

After a screw broke off from the stabiliser assembly, I managed somehow to strip the thing down and get it back together ... and amazingly it does still work! However, there are now 2 screws or washer type things missing. It's very hard to explain for me, so I've added a picture below

The 2 missing bits are those at the the bottom of the pic, which fix to the red pedal and the stabiliser assembly. It appears that simple screws would not hold the parts in place, so maybe there's meant to be some sort of washer screw?

If you could help identify the parts or indeed have any of these lying around for me to purchase then that would be brilliant.

Thanks.

There is a plastic washer missing from both screws. It has a serrated side to fit into the serrated finish you can see there.

Then 2 screws. Mvacs should have some spare.

Congratulations on getting it apart and back together! Should be OK to carefully use it without the screws, the parts are under some tension anyway.

There is an exploded drawing here to aid in identification: https://manchestervacs.co.uk/DysonForum/index.php/topic,43.msg187.html#msg187
