I've just come across an oddity with DC07 serial numbers starting with 093. This doesn't come up on Dysons website or Manchester Vacs, are they a local special?
A customer has just brought me in a picture of his because we said he must have written it down wrong. So looking back at my records we've had at least one in the workshop.

I had a Dyson with 093, it was either the early yellow and grey Dc07 standard or the purple and blue Allergy

I just added that. Thanks.  :tiphat:

This is exactly the type of thing I was looking for. Looking at the ranges, there is an 092 and an 094 (which are DC07's), but 093 not mentioned.

Super!  :king:

"DC29" (Origin) cylinder - yellow cyclone top.

They also did a "DC29 - Animal" with a pink cyclone top

and a "DC29 - Allergy Parquet" with a blue cyclone top

Not sure if they are generic Irish model numbers or retailer ones.

Cheers Eddie.

I think you guys have your own serial numbers (Hence the IE), but strong info. I'll add it now. Thanks.  :tiphat:

We do have our own serials, although I think some of the older models share the same serial prefixes. This is the tag from the DC02:

850 is already in the database though.

The later models though have the dual UK/RoI customer service telephone number stickers. The older ones with helpline number stickers just have the RoI customer service number on them.

I take it that this (DC29) machine is just a variant of the DC19?

Yes, it looks like it. Other nearby serial numbers equate to DC29 machines in Australia that go to our DC19 page for spares. From the info I have, they are all DC19s by another name. They often change model numbers between markets for the same machine. Our serial number DB is now more comprehensive than any of Dysons own singular public facing ones. We can build the domestic one from machines that come in for repair, but for overseas models we rely on parts inquiries and user input such as yours, so thanks again. Every one added means someone else who uses our tool is pointed to the right page.   :-*

Anything we don't have on the site, please ask, we have rakes of stuff not on the site.

I see what you mean with that 850 one, despite the IE in the serial number, it comes up as a DC02 standard. But they have become craftier since then to stop people like us doing what we do. So they change numbers across markets.

Your 746 one doesn't come up on Dyson UK, and on dyson.ie there isnt even a place to put it that I can see!  :sick0012:  Why we had that tool written. Next time someone from Eire puts in 746 on our site, we will know his machine is what we know as a DC19 thanks to your input.

For any passing readers, please test our tool with any and all European, US, Canadian and Australasian models. If your model doesn't show up, please tell us.

That used DC29 was handed over to me in (I think) the replacement's box, a DC28c Musclehead...

I guess the AC, MU, SSB means something and I presume IE = Ireland.

Although the serial sticker says - UK - and DC28c ErP?

There is a DC28c Musclehead on both IE and UK websites, although the prefix HP3 doesn't work on the Irish site. What a load of old bobbins!
