DC14 Overdrive.
« on: May 20, 2015, 09:33:29 am »
What makes a DC14 overdrive, an overdrive?  I have just got one for £11 and all it had wrong with it was a break in the cable!  Got a whole bunch of tools to go with it too! ;D

Probably just the extra tools.

Yes, that was what I was thinking... I wonder if a few extra tools actually justifies calling it 'overdrive'!

Dose a HEPA filter and mini turbine brush warrant a dyson being called "Animal"   :grinn:  Its all marketing, there were only really 2 differences, 1, brush bar control, 2, post motor filters, but this and lots of different colours and extra tools supplied as standard made lots of different model combinations.

Dyson don't list an overdrive on their parts site any more. Is that the violet one?

Oh I LOVE the Overdrive DC14, was gonna get a brand new one from Dyson outlet for £160 but either they got sold out or I decided to get a DC33 Animal, I don't remember, but such good machines! I like the 'Cadbury' purple used in this DC14, so lovely and the extra tools with the powerful suction of the DC14.
PS Omg you are so lucky, £11 for all tools, perfect motor, perfect stickers you got lucky! ;D I paid £16 for a blown up DC14 Blitz it without any tools, had a taped u bend and an adaptor that got sucked up into the bottom of the hose and into the u bend lol. NAsty surprise tho when I was changing the motor, alive siders in the cleaner head,  under the airflow dust there was a small wriggly creature white worm thing, eww and in the motor housing there were like 2 or 3 ALIVE cockroach look a like things! EW IDK how they got in there but I bought it like that

I always thought that the Overdrive was designed to attract the car-interior cleaning market?
