Help! DC39 - How to separate the post motor filter from the cable rewind assy

Hi all,

As per subject line. I have not been able to separate the HEPA post motor filter from the cable rewind assy for washing/replace. Has anyone been able to do so?

The cable rewind assembly is what the poster on that topic calls the cru. No photos but good description.
