Mk1 Airblade looking a bit smeggy
« on: May 25, 2015, 08:21:30 pm »
We went away to Devon Cliffs last week, and I couldnt help but notice the state of the airblades

The others werent quite so bad, and this one worked the worst out of all of them but I didnt realise they went this crappy with use!

Those are AB01's. They are powder coated aluminium. After a few years the water does ingress and cause that.

The ones we get like that are stripped down, shot blasted, stove enamelled and lacquered. So they come out like brand new again.

Sounds like a thorough job!  Doesnt the metal corrode too mich sometimes though?  Or is that when it gets broken for spares,  or do you get the car body filler out?

May have waited until it was empty...  Plus this one was around the corner by a fire exit that was always open with staff having  a fag outside...

Haha! XD
PS at Birmingham Airport, whenever we went there I would ALWAYS wash my hands like before eating and also to use the Dyson hand dryers! However when we went there last month, the Dysons had all been replaced with crappy hand dryers!!!

I've noticed this, they seem to be phasing them out for normal old style dryers. First it was the above type, then the newer style ones

then back to standard types. Never seen an airblade tap in the flesh yet. They must be realising that yes they are shiney and cool, but need maintenance for filter changes etc regularly. Does the water drain out of an airblade to a drain, or collect and need to be emptied?

Then you get people like the landlord of our office building who puts airblade clones in, which are shite. Will try and get a pic if I get an empty moment in the gents

Oh I have tried one of those new V Dyson hand dryers in Birmingham Children's Hospital! They are fab and are more OCD friendly. I don't like the older ones, cos if you touch the yellow bit, like how many people have touched that? they come out the loo, just do a 2 sec rinse of their hands which makes it WORSE (ew) and then shove their hands in, eww

The V ones can blow water back over your strides though.
