Old Friend The DC01
« on: June 05, 2015, 10:25:01 pm »
This is our old hoover (replaced by DC25) its never gave us any bother what so ever and we bought it brand new in 1995 or 1996. there are some bits that have not got the Dyson logo on because they have been replaced by the Dyson man years ago.i would like to get another DC01 that is broken and put the original parts on it with the logos on it. the motor even got replaced because the old one was getting tight and way too noisy :underchair:. ever since i have cleaned it all up the hoover sticks to the carpet very well and also try's to lift it up :o. those who are curious about my DC01 in my resent DC04 post here is some pictures

That is a very early DA001, identified by the fixed soleplate.

DO NOT break that soleplate. They are almost totally unavailable. We have two new ones but they are 40 odd quid each as we had to pay big  :money: for them.

Later thatday Mum told me a story about the dc01 and how good it was. They saw the advert on the TV and my dad was impressed of how cool it looks (they where cool in their days). So at curry's they had a demo shot of it and said it was great!. And they bought one

It was good for the rug near the Coal fire because it was always getting dirty. Then the next door neighbour asked if he could have a shot of it. And then everyone one else asked for a shot as well , oh jesus. After the neighbours pestering mum and dad to get a shot ,they all finally got their own one.

A cupal of years later. The people who all wanted a DC01 managed to buy one and then managed to wrek their ones. And the DC01 that everyone wanted a shot of is still going to this very day and the others are dead. What a shame. :snivel:

We got our DC01 brand new in 1997 or 1998 and only lasted like 2 years cos I broke it :/ Everyone had a Dc01 back then then a few years everyone had a DC04 and some still do actually, people then got DC07/DC14's and Dc08's aswell. Then 2 years ago the popular ones were DC14 Origins, DC19's, DC24/25's, DC27's and that. Now there's DC19T2's, DC33's DC27's DC40/41's and DC38/39's everywhere.

Very nice,  and lovely back story.

Its a dc01, but at that age i think you want the cyclone top with old style dyson logo and dc01 under it.  Not aure what the otber stickers looked like though
