I took this in part exchange for a DC07 a few weeks ago. Don't normally go for modern
rubbish Vax's, but it was complete
It is VERY loud, infact the lady who bought the 07 came round with her daughter in tow to check it wouldnt make her screama nd cry like the vax does...
I turned it on, and the release valve blew straight open, so I clocked the filter, agreed on £15 off the 07 and kept it. Mainly because I saw this
Typical :censored:vax, even my 2015 AirRevolve does this after 2 or 3 uses...
Mmmm that filters done a good job then
Better. The brushroll was also like this
(Turn your speakers down for this...)
It did pick up this though...
So meh, lets do this!
Hose and filter off to go through the washing machine
Cyclone assembly off
Filter cover back off
Turbo tool off
Retaining ring off
Split out
Only one axle from the turbine comes off
Extention pole and crevice tool off
Turbo tool cradle slides up off the handle
Dusting brush. Picked loads of fluff and hair out of this...
Cable off
Screw out of the top hose hook
This releases a holding peice, and the handle lifts off
The handle grip comes off the main handle
The switch cover pops off, and the spring is retreived
Underneath now, and undo lots of screws
The suction inlet comes off the hood
The clear visor unclips from the hood
Furniture guard pulls off the lower housing
Belt and brushroll off
Yummy...
Brushroll split. Couldnt get the axle out of one of the end caps and didnt want to break it so left it be...
2 pivot hinges come off now
and the main body lifts off the lower chassis
The front wheels unclip from behind a moulding on the chassis, and lift out
the wheels pop out of the frame
The height adjuster knob pops out
and the top pops off that
Recline pedal snaps out
The rear wheels are nice and easy to remove, no horrible clamp washer here! 1 ickle circlip
and they fall off
and the caps pop off
Onto the main body now. The first of many, many things to come off is the hose joiner
Lots more screws come out and the back splits in half. You can remove the cyclone entry seal now
2 big screws at the bottom
and the back chassis comes off the motor housing
2 screws inside release the top hose mount
Another screw releases the top cord hook
Lower cord hook and bottom hose mount pop out from underneath inside
Stripped!
Motor now
Some screws later
Wires into the switch
Snippy snip of the neutral wire as its joined by those one use only grip clamps
Switch out. Identical to a dyson switch
Release valve out
The useless sound deadening had taken some hits
as had the front diffuser
Probably weeks away from overheating and tripping the tco or exploding violently
The motor fan wasnt too bad
so I picked it all out and removed the top and bottom mounts
Cyclone
Bloody stupid cyclone tbh, its mahoosive but the fill line is only 5cm up...
The inner 'cone' twists off 2 latches on the lid
This bit unscrews from under the black housing
Handle and release button unscrew as well
Stripped!
DC50 cleaned that mess up nicely, even in its ruined state tbh!
