Its likely cos 1 in 3 UK homes own a Dyson
Dyson Ltd continued to lead vacuum cleaners in the UK holding 20% retail volume share in 2012. The only other companies which hold large retail volume share in addition to Dyson are Vax Ltd and Hoover Candy Group with 10% and 8% in 2012. Dyson benefits from a number of factors, including its strong reputation for quality, design and functionality. The brand also benefits from its UK heritage and from wide distribution and strong marketing support.
The Dyson is now the top selling upright vacuum cleaner brand in the US, with a near 27% market share. And interestingly, given the turmoil in the eurozone economies, Dyson even saw real revenue growth in Spain over the past year. The group has been very careful to spread risk across a number of markets and products. Last year it sold 85% of its machines outside the UK, compared with 30% in 2005.
Dyson Ltd remained the leader in vacuum cleaners in the UK in 2014 with a 20% volume share, followed by Vax Ltd and Hoover Candy Group with respective shares of 9% and 7%. Other multinational players such as Samsung, Miele and Electrolux were also present. New player Grey Technology Ltd emerged with the launch of a cordless vacuum cleaner range. The company has reported strong sales for 2014 and is likely to continue to gain share in the coming years.
Nicely found, those figures seem a tad more realistic don't they ?.
