DC04 Constant Max and DC03 Standard
« on: August 13, 2015, 05:07:52 pm »
so then. i found these bad boys. a DC04 constant max and a DC03 standard today. the DC04 is really ruff and i wondered why i ever took it. but i remember the constant maxes are rare?. As for the DC03 i grabbed it cause i haven't got one so what the heck. i dont know if they even run (they probably do). i will test them later when i have time.at the moment i'm exhausted and i have been busy building a shed.

Very nice! I have an orange and steel constant max that came with a job lot, which I was excited about until I realised it needed an orange wand cap, clutchless hose, orange wheel vanity caps and it now needs a brushroll as I pinched it a while ago. It just sits there looking sorry for itself, and I dont want to put any old DC04 parts on it as it would look stupid, and cba spending £££ on a clutchless hose.

It is in better nick than yours though, shame that cyclone sticker is so ruined

spending £££ on a clutchless hose.

I have some non-gen clutchless hoses in grey.

That green machine looks like it needs a wand.

Tricky,  as they both look a bit shite tbh! How much did they cost you?

Would be tempted to pull the amtek and other good spares from the dc04 and sling it,  and maybe project up the dc03, should get £30 on faceache.  Just hope it doesnt need new filters cos its game over then! I need filters for both my dc03s but their a tenner a pap,  and i want all 4. Another day,  their not too bad atm and i rarely use them

they cost me nothing. i found them at a local recycle center or dump (Shanks). i'm good friends with the dump guy and he lets me take anything although don't let anyone see me taking stuff  :-X. the DC04 does not run dead completely need to check the cable and the motor wires. the DC03 is running but sucks poorly and it smells of smoke badly. plan to take the parts off i need and take them back. the filters look very clean for the age of the DC03 just a wee bit of dust on them. plan to modify the DC03's cable to fit on the DC01 as i not a fan of that gray cable with the gray plug.

Ask someone with some good used ones.  ;D

Edit: I think I also have some shop soiled old [new] stock ones. Maybe a dent here and there, been out of the original bag for a year or two or a few surface marks. So new, but maybe not new enough to sell as new.

Ah well for free, yea, get the good bits off of both and return them! A working DC03 motor could be handy, brushrolls, dc04 top cyclone handle, filter release button, changeover valve, clutch, clutch cover, switches etc are all handy.

That's how we started. After a year or two collecting stuff like that, someone said, "You should open a Dyson shop".

Then id need orange wheel caps and an orange wand top,  and the flymo ended cable as mine was shot and got binned a while ago, and I think ive asked you about the wand top and cable before...

Or is the wand top steel? Cant remember.

Well, steel would do. I dont recall orange ones. Personally, I would fit a standard cable.

Dyson2000, as that DC04 is an obscure one, can I get the first three digits of the serial number please to make sure we have that variant on our database?

Some reason in the spares and/or the support section of the Dyson website you can't find the DC04 constant max, they only introduced it when it came out but never heard of again?
I would quite like to see a DC14 constant max, I'm sure that will take a good pounding and last :) I don't think theres really much fine dust in commercial environments, but just bigger things like grit?
