Random Dyson survey
« on: August 16, 2015, 09:33:03 pm »
Thought this would be a fun survey ;D lol

1)How do you start vacuuming (uprights?) Switch the vacuum on first or recline the vacuum first? I switch it on first then recline
2) How long does your Dyson take to fill up? Ours takes about 2 weeks
3)How often do you vacuum? We do it 14 times a week which is 2X a day every day
4) Does the brushbar p!ss you off? I mean it works well but the hair tangling is annoying. Happens to us a lot
5)Do you religiously wash the filters? I dont bother unless it gets blocked or when I feel like I want to refurb the vacuum.
6) What's your fav Dyson upright  and cylinder?? I don't know, probably the DC14, durable, reliable, powerful and looks modern enough :) My favourite cylinder would be the DC08 as it's like a cylinder version of the DC14.
7) Which Dyson tool(s) do you hate? I hate the DC01 dusting brush and the DC14 crevice tool.
8)Which Dyson tool(s) do you love? I like the DC04 tool kit, their turbine heads and all the extra bonus tools
9) Modern or old Dyson?
10) Does your Dyson often get blocked? Our's doesnt, apart from when I shove the hose somewhere and suck up a pen and can't make it past the u bend
11) What Dyso.n would be best for the following scenario; MASSIVE house party, loads of party mess, broken glass, and whoope spilled flour from baking in the kitchen, thick pile carpet and loads of above the floor stuff? I would say DC25, the wand on that is fast to grab out and does a good job on carpets, the DC41 would be good but the hose cuff button on that is too stiff, like it has a stiff spring in there and the wand is skinny and flexes. PS  :offtopic: A Numatic Henry vacuum too, can suck up anything lol
12) Would you rather vacuum the car on a main busy road with a DC07 CLIC model with the lovely mini turbine head fitted/Hetty vacuum or an ASDA crappy cylinder vacuum with a crevice and stair tool? (loads of people know you well in the area) so you have a reputation to keep, lol.
13) What Dyson(s) do you hate? I would say the DC40. Same brush motor as the DC24 but DC40 is bigger so is expected to work in bigger homes than a DC24 and so gets more use and it's just not nice. Also, the DC05's either hate me or hate my house because I looked after the two I had and both blew up, and broke physically with silly things like cable rewinds which annoyed me. But, I want to like the DC05 cos it looks lovely and works good
14) Things you hate about a Dyson? I hate the tool storage on their cylinders, except the Dc02.
15) Things you love? EVERYTHING, especially the lovely sound of a DC33 or DC14,  and when you put it upright and then dramatically hear the PSHHH of the suction sucking through the wand cap.
16) What vacuum do(es) your neighbour(s) have? My neighbour has a Numatic Henry, then it's our house, then the DC33 owning neighbour, then their neighbour has a blue DC19 and then tis a DC04 Absolute (my uncles house) he has a Henry and a yellow DC07 in his shed, then next door to his is also my uncle, hae has a white/orange/silver Dc14 all floors and he has a DC15 in the same colour scheme and a black swivel sweeper, so that's 5 houses in a row that all have Dysons ;D would be 3 if it wasnt for my recommendation :king:

I'll end it here as I feel this might be a bit long and potentially boring and a massive chunk,  but yh :P a bit of fun! :king: Hope I didn't bore you  :sleepy_man:

Bloody hell, lets have a go then...

1)How do you start vacuuming (uprights?) Switch the vacuum on first or recline the vacuum first? I switch it on first then recline Switch on then recline
2) How long does your Dyson take to fill up? Ours takes about 2 weeks I havent filled a Dyson up to the top in many years! When my mum last dailied a DC07 Probably 3-4 weeks
3)How often do you vacuum? We do it 14 times a week which is 2X a day every day 3 times at least, more as needed
4) Does the brushbar p!ss you off? I mean it works well but the hair tangling is annoying. Happens to us a lot With laminate, brushroll off buttons are welcome. If not, then a beater bar less upright at least
5)Do you religiously wash the filters? I dont bother unless it gets blocked or when I feel like I want to refurb the vacuum. Only when refurbing. The Miele gets new filters every 5th bag so I never wash those
6) What's your fav Dyson upright  and cylinder?? I don't know, probably the DC14, durable, reliable, powerful and looks modern enough :) My favourite cylinder would be the DC08 as it's like a cylinder version of the DC14.DC08 for Cylinder, DC04 Upright (both refurbished, natch. A ruined one of either is pigging woeful
7) Which Dyson tool(s) do you hate? I hate the DC01 dusting brush and the DC14 crevice tool. The small DC01/2 style dusting brush
8)Which Dyson tool(s) do you love? I like the DC04 tool kit, their turbine heads and all the extra bonus tools Mvacs DC to 32mm adapter is great, and the larger dusting brushes (never used one of the special flat ones
9) Modern or old Dyson?
10) Does your Dyson often get blocked? Our's doesnt, apart from when I shove the hose somewhere and suck up a pen and can't make it past the u bend Never, but I found a nice pen in a DC33 U bend once. When it ran out I went onto Ebay and bought a new one
PS  :offtopic: A Numatic Henry vacuum too, can suck up anything lol DC07, as parts are cheap.
ASDA crappy ones. Our neighbors have seen me carrying enough cleaners from the car to know the score. I Hoover the garden with the Aquamaster a fair bit...
But, I want to like the DC05 cos it looks lovely and works good The DC11, for many reasons
14) Things you hate about a Dyson? I hate the tool storage on their cylinders, except the Dc02. How easily the wands snap or the hose tears.
15) Things you love? EVERYTHING, especially the lovely sound of a DC33 or DC14,  and when you put it upright and then dramatically hear the PSHHH of the suction sucking through the wand cap. A good one (04/07) does groom well. They make me money
16) What vacuum do(es) your neighbour(s) have? My neighbour has a Numatic Henry, then it's our house, then the DC33 owning neighbour, then their neighbour has a blue DC19 and then tis a DC04 Absolute (my uncles house) he has a Henry and a yellow DC07 in his shed, then next door to his is also my uncle, hae has a white/orange/silver Dc14 all floors and he has a DC15 in the same colour scheme and a black swivel sweeper, so that's 5 houses in a row that all have Dysons ;D would be 3 if it wasnt for my recommendation :king: Dysons either side of us, I think a DC05 to our left, and only heard the ones on the rigth vacuum once, but she stays at home all day so probably does it then. Girl on the end has a Samsung upright, and there's a DC07 White origin over the road as I've seen him vac out the carw ith the release valve merrily whistling away even when he's not using the tools... (I did go for a chat but he blanked me so sod him...

Lol nice! enjoyed reading that :P especially about how you bought the exact pen on eBay! lol ;D

Sometimes I dont bother vacuuming the car, I dont want people coming up top me and asking why I vacuum my dads car and he never does, and why we always have a different vacuum cleaning the car every now and then lol. There's a group/gang of about 5-20 boys hanging outside their houses like all day, I'm fine with them but they don't know I like vacuums, but one of their younger brothers asked me why my mate called me Dyson as a joke once, so I blanked him

 :o

Thought my essay writing days were well and truly over!

1/ recline then switch on.. I think
2/ depends how dirty the floor and which floor it is.
3/ normally when we cant see the pattern on the carpet.  Before I take picture of a dyson I'm selling.
4/ A bit yes but needed with pet's.
5/ Try to.  Always on a refurbish.
6/ DC14 DC05 motorhead.
7/ the later crevice tool/dusting brush.
8/ dc04 tools, the later "positive air" are not as powerful IMO.
9/ old new ones are made from crap plastic.
10/ no not unless it sucks up something it's not suppose to.
11/ DC14, big bin.
12/ Any dyson any colour as long as I can have a crevice tool as well.
13/ I'm not sold on the ball's they are ok but can be a right royal pain at times.
14/ DC07 cyclone, pain to clean and dry,  crap brush bar motors.
15/ power, looks, colours, build quality (most of the time)
16/ Dyson DC04 from me, no idea about the other side.

I'm interested in seeing what MVacs will say and MVclaire or Mvolga

Olga is away for a few days, so I'll have a crack.

1)How do you start vacuuming (uprights?) Switch the vacuum on first or recline the vacuum first? - Recline first.
2) How long does your Dyson take to fill up? Ask Olga
3)How often do you vacuum? Ask Olga - I see enough Dysons at work
4) Does the brushbar p!ss you off? Not at all, when ours needs a fettle, I take it into work.
5)Do you religiously wash the filters? See 4.
6) What's your fav Dyson upright  and cylinder?? I don't know, probably the DC14, durable, reliable, powerful and looks modern enough :) - Not keen on cylinders, love the DC14.
7) Which Dyson tool(s) do you hate? I hate the DC01 dusting brush and the DC14 crevice tool. - The daft combi tools that come with later ones.
8)Which Dyson tool(s) do you love? I like the DC04 tool kit, their turbine heads and all the extra bonus tools. I like the flexi crevice tool.
9) Modern or old Dyson? Modern ones are so good, we break them for spares. Buy a DC14 people.  :icon_nod:
10) Does your Dyson often get blocked? Not that I recall. Unless I use it to clean out the open fire (don't do that folks!)
11) What Dyson would be best for the following scenario; MASSIVE house party, loads of party mess, broken glass, and whoope spilled flour from baking in the kitchen - I think I'll party at your place.
12) Would you rather vacuum the car on a main busy road..... Valeters!
13) What Dyson(s) do you hate? I would say the DC40. - Any hand held:sick0012:
14) Things you hate about a Dyson? I hate the tool storage on their cylinders, except the Dc02. I agree, cylinder tool storage is pants.
15) Things you love? My wife, wine, steak and the rustle of £20 notes.   :))
16) What vacuum do(es) your neighbour(s) have? - No clue.
