Hello!
« on: September 11, 2015, 10:21:46 pm »
Hi all, I just wanted to introduce myself. I have been a lurker for a while, but finally decided to sign up (why not?).
I collect machines, both new and old and have worked for a vacuum repair shop for about five years (had been going in there since I was about four though), the last three years of which we have been a dyson dealer and warranty center.

I currently own way too many vacuums (granted, less than a few years ago), tucked away at my parent's home as I have just started college. Out of those are 15 dysons, along with 10 other machines which utilize dyson's cyclone technology (legitimately or not).
The models are as follows:
-dc02 absolute
-5 dc07's (One from late 2002 waiting refurbishment, this is very early for a US one, One clutchless "carpet" variant, very rare in the US, Two "full kit" ones waiting refurbishment, and one red one which was factory refurbished in 09')
-Two dc14's, one very beat up animal variant from 05', keeps on going though, it was a "rescue" (was absolutely knackered when I got it), and a home made clutchless model, again built out of the remains of another knackered one)
-A dc17, another one I refurbished, and boy was it a bad one!
-A dc16 which was bought cheap with a bad battery last year, after a new battery I really like it!
-A dc23, bought new in 2010
-Two dc24's,one bought new in 2009, another awaiting refurbishment.
-A dc25 Blueprint edition, found earlier this year, and needed a lot of help! Luckily a certain someone on here's pictures helped with that!
-And finally a dc59 "motorhead" bought new about a year ago, but not for full retail!

Well, that turned out longer than I expected. Sorry!

Hi and welcome! PS correct me if I'm wrong but I think you were/are on VacuumLand and the machines listed are similar. a DC17 was horrible to work on, the yellow DC14 has a blue brush housing and had a very detailed refurbishment?

Well Parwaz, you got me! Indeed I am still on vacuumland. How did you remember about the dc14 with the blue brush housing? That seems like it was ages ago!
Thanks all for the warm welcome.

We get the odd one drift over here from there. Many here are over there too, me included. Unlike many forum genres, there is no animosity or competition between there and here. We and Vacland compliment each other more than compete.  :icon_nod:

But yes, Parwaz remembers everything.  ;D
