ID this part, please!
« on: September 22, 2015, 04:24:47 pm »
I just received my first Dyson from a neighbor, who was throwing out a working DC41 Animal. She said the cleaner head wasn't powered...I looked and quickly saw a white wire running to it was broken. Some punter walking by also cut the power cord for some reason, so I need to replace that before testing.

Issues:
- torn white power wire to cleaner head
- broken red cuff on internal hose assembly (using duct tape for now)
- chopped power cord
- this mysterious broken part

I found this grey plastic part broken down by the cleaner head power socket. The part number is 105776, but I can't locate it online.

Looking at the attached image (from Hedgy's yoke assembly tutorial https://manchestervacs.co.uk/DysonForum/index.php/topic,1050.0.html), it looks to fill the hole above the power socket. What is it and do I need to replace it? If so, where can I get one? (I live in the US.)

Thanks!
-Mark-

Well, I just found the part as a component in the internal vacuum hose assembly for $20 on eBay with free shipping:

Since I needed the hose assembly anyway, this kills 2 birds with 1 stone!

Yes, it comes as part of the internal hose assembly.

It would be about £9 ($14 or so) but plus shipping, so the $20 one you found looks OK.  :icon_nod:

The broken white wire you speak of will probably be >>this one<<.

Yep--that's it! I just used a wire nut to connect the two ends. I'll keep an eye on it and maybe use a different connector or get another wiring loom if it comes loose.
