dyson dc08 floor head help required
« on: October 04, 2015, 11:39:59 pm »
Hi people picked a dc08 up this evening and it didnt seem very good on the floor head. Further investigation has revealed a vent under the head. Could anyone check theirs to see if its the same as mine or if its supposed to be blanked up. Its under the floor head where it all joins. See second picture.

Im going to block it up with a rubber washer. You seem to loose loads of power otherwise.

These are on DC14's and DC33's aswell with the large debris channel, I would use a (now 5P) plastic bag as they are non porous :) They are fantastic for blocking the leaks

The DC08 contact head and the DC19 flat out heads are probably the best Dyson floor tools ever made. The contact head has an optional suction leak thing (red sliders on the sides) and focuses suction really well. The flat out head is the same but no settings and it goes under literally anything, even a door and a washing machine! My uncle has one on his DC19 T2 for some reason, either the old head was crap or broken

The air channels in the flat out head are pretty narrow so wasn't expecting much....but I think it's the best floor tool for picking up.

They do end up very blocked though!

I don't personally like the contact heads, it's strange the way they move when you're using it with the hose through the middle  :boggleeye:

I struggle with the original floor heads. But i can strip the contact heads with the square hose inside a piece of piss. Its like a jigsaw puzzle a fun one at that lol.

Piece of piss? lol haha ;D
I hate working on Dyson floor heads, they seem so solid and well made that it's all injection moulded together as a whole part even though it's not! :/ The DC02 floor tool is easy peasy though (The one with a hard floor and carpet mode, as seen on the very earliest DC02
