Is this an Early DC02 and question about the pole and floor tool

I am new to this forum but have repaired my own and few other Dyson vacs in my time.

Recently I found an old DC02 when clearing out my step-mum's house.

My first question is about the age of it. The tool cover at the rear doesn't have a release button like other DC02  I have seen. I have attached a couple of photos of the back end of the unit.

The second is that the pole and turbo floor tool don't seem to attach. One end of the pole does fit to the end of the hand 'banana' but doesn't attach to the floor tool.  Is this the wrong tool? and can I get an adapter?

Don't think that is a dyson wand, or the plastic end bit is missing from it. By the look of the dyson font I think that is a very early one.

Looks like a DC05 Turbo head.

Pole looks like it has an old Dyson logo on yellow button.

Plastic mouldings usually have a date code as in a circle of numbers with an arrow if you can find it.

That is the first DC02 produced By Dyson. After that the rear tool flap was modified to take a catch to open and close the flap. The turbo brush you have there is fOr a DC05. I doubt you'll get an adaptor to make it fit. The dc02 had friction fit tools whereas the dc05 used clips to hold the tools on and can been seen on the heck of the turbo brush. I've never seen one of these dc02s before.

That DC05 head does fit the DC02 OK I seem to recall.

And indeed, that is a *very* early DC02. I'd be curious to know the first three digits of the serial number?

I had that exact same early DC02 with yellow cyclone stickers and sold it to a collector
