Manchester Vacs (Dyson & Sebo Specialists) are relocating on February 27th 2016 to the former Bulls Head Hotel (now renamed the Bull's Head Building), 605 Gorton Road, Reddish, Stockport, SK5 6NX (also locally known as Reddish Lane).

It currently looks like this:

But it will look somewhat tidier than that in the coming weeks.

For those unsure of the location, it is here:

There will be an opening party with entertainment, drinks and nibbles for anyone who is interested to have a look and say hello.

I will update the topic here as work progresses and more information is known.

Excellent! Glad this all came through for you.  Remember to not use a dyson for diy type cleanup though...

Will have to make the trip next year,  only a 380 mile round trip for a quick hello...
Collector and restorer of vintage vacuums, Dyson Appreciator! Come and see my blog, where I am uploading all my mountains of brochures, manuals and other vacuum cleaner paperwork, and also my youtube channel @beko1987!

So work has started already. We should have 103.6 Tameside Radio (that we advertise on already) doing an outside broadcast on opening day, some local papers, an Austin Powers chap there to make people laugh with jokes about suction, and I am working on a famous face to do the opening.

Looking at a provisional mid January opening with nibbles, drinks, etc. Should be pretty cool on opening day, and probably a breath of fresh air for the people of Reddish as the building has had some unpopular proposals for its future previously.

So we have a banner outside so people know what is happening.

(The hoody isn't one of ours)

People keep popping in to have a nosey; glad to see something happening with the building at last.

For those who may be interested what is happening at the Bull's Head in Reddish, who cannot pop in, this is where we are up to.........

Internal walls, counters and painting in progress............

As some will know, the previous occupants afforded themselves a gratis electricity supply in order to facilitate a horticultural endeavour. The electricity company didn't take too kindly to that idea, and promptly cut the building off in the street. We are currently running on a generator, we expect a new mains electricity supply in the next few days.

We are on the final furlong now.  :king:

We have a lot of snagging left to do, and we are waiting on delays relating to the alarm, security, electricity supply, telephone line and internet connections.

It is looking like Saturday 13th 20th February opening at the moment.

Getting closer now.

Point of sale, desks and vintage machines going in our museum area.

Looking like February 20th at the moment. Depending only on the electricity supply and metering.

Opening day is now fixed for February 27th. :king:

Manchester Vacs, Bull's Head Building. 605 Gorton Road, Reddish, Stockport. SK5 6NX.

ila_rendered

We are physically moving from our current location on Abbey Hey Lane on Wednesday the 24th (when we are usually closed). We are open in our new location Thursday the 25th. Our official opening party with Gordon Burns and a live broadcast from our shop with Tameside Radio 103.6 FM is between 11am and 2pm on Saturday the 27th February.

For anyone local, there will be nibbles, drinks, a chance to meet Gordon Burns (a great selfie opportunity  :-X), peek around our new shop, meet the staff, say hello to the Tameside radio people and maybe even bag yourself a new Dyson or Sebo vacuum cleaner at a discount on the day. We will have over 100 refurbished and new Dyson and Sebo vacuum cleaners on the shop floor, and our new Dyson museum area will be open so you can look at not only a genuine prototype Dyson, but a rare American licensed Dyson (Fantom) and several of the rarest Dyson models from the early days of Dyson.

As locals of Tameside, Manchester and Stockport will know, the Bull's Head building is an iconic former public house sitting on Reddish Lane/Gorton Road that straddles the physical boundaries of all three districts, and is a well-known local landmark. It has stood shamefully semi-derelict for the last few years until we took it over last year. We have been refurbishing it since last October, and we are very much looking forward to serving the Dyson and Sebo owners of Tameside, Manchester and Stockport with spare parts, repairs and servicing. Not to mention new and refurbished machine sales.

We are not a brand new business; we are an already established business relocating once again back to Reddish. We are a family business who has been in nearby Abbey Hey (Gorton) for almost a decade; a family who first had a shop in Reddish in the mid 1970's.

We look forward to meeting anyone and everyone who is interested on Saturday the 27th February between 11am and 2pm at the Bull's Head.
