Greetings I have a issue
« on: October 29, 2015, 09:55:54 pm »
Evening all I'm new to the forum

I have a little querie

I have a DC07 that I have had from new and it really lost suction I've followed videos etc and fully restored it but my question is

Do I have to use a hepa filter ? Or can I just use the pads ?

It did originally come with a hepa

Many thanks all

In my opinion, Original is all ways best but if you're tight git like me just get the cheap ones. they both do the exactly same thing, collecting carbon from the motor.

Yeah I'm a tight git haha, I've been stripping and restoring DC14s and DC04s for a while to earn a little spare cash never have I done a DC07 until today and I thought as it was my own I'd do it as cheaply as possible I believe I've found the right place for and questions and General Dyson talk

My missus hates me for it but i love the satisfaction of stripping a knackered Dyson down and cleaning it and fixing it and putting it back together

I rescue them from recycle centres.  And restore them. Only time I spend money on them is for filters and belts.  As for the rest of the parts,  I can get them for free there is always a dyson there!

I always put a hepa in if it had one when it left dyson but no reason why you cant swap and change ether way.  I have found the cheap generic hepa filters just as good as genuine ones.  I also wash the pads in machine because I don't like to waste them.

We tend to put pads in because they are cheaper and I feel they let the motor breathe easier.
