I may have a spare filter cover, but it will be about a week and a half until I can check.

Brilliant! Thanks for that.

I'm also going to check on the trim, but I think I have only one with matching trim and would like to hang on to it! Just wondering, what does the data plate say the amperage on the one on the right is? The left one looks like the earliest version but the cover on the right one is throwing me off, it should have a 12 amp motor.

They both say 10A.

It looks like we have a grille cover - a collector is supposed to be dropping us one off today.

We still need the rubber trim missing here.

That's interesting that one is made by Fantom and one by Iona, with otherwise identical ratings plates. Do I detect that the top one was made in week 43 1997 and the bottom one week 45 1996? What happened to Iona in that year?

Are these the machines that were designed to sh!t the hepa post filter up as much as possible then charge $70 for a new one?

It would be really interesting to see the internal components to see how they work, or a thread ;D

You could do a component by component comparison with a dc01 and your rotork...

Okay, that is really strange then, I have never seen one of those with the light green bin and a ten amp motor, all the ones I've seen have been 12 amp. I think the hood with the light green bumper should be on the other machine though, the bumper matches the hand grip and the head light cover matches the darker green of the bin. Every lighter green one I have seen had a black bumper and hand grip. Indeed the one with Iona on it is the earlier one. Hope this helps! Like I said, will be more sure about this in a week or so.

Beko, you're right. These have no pre motor filters and shove all the fine dust straight through the motor to the post filter.

If anyone hasn't seen this video yet, I think it is worth a watch. Really helps show the differences between how fantom and dyson advertised.

It looks like the bit we have missing is actually a light? Do they all have the headlight?

This would seem to be the same machine?

The headlight could be Kenmore specific though. Think of all the Eureka and bissel and Kenmore vacs in the US with headlights that get re-badged as Vax or Hoover over here and just have a blanking plate in place of the cool stuff...

Yep, every fantom  fury variant I've seen has had a headlight. I have about four different variants myself. Kenmore had private label versions of most of the fantom machines. Aside from different labels and branding, they were all identical to the fantom versions.

Are the light bits there then, behind the gap where the lens would be? If not, but you can see the cable chase locations then that would settle the 'lighty or no likey' debate

Have you tested it yet? Sure you have a 110v transformer lying around, could pinch one from the work at the new shop if all else fails... If the filtration is on par with the Hoover Vortex as you say I bet the motor fan could do with a wash

We haven't stripped them yet, but either way, wiring them to have a light (if none fitted) is child's play.

I watched DC16's video, and I think all must have a light as he says. So we are only missing the light unit it seems.

Qtex have an American branch, so I already stuck the feelers out there. Part # 73213-3340 is a full cleaner head (called a "cover" there). A new one is about $50, plus whatever to ship, so it doesn't break the bank as a last resort for something so rare here.

But if anyone out there has a Fantom (Iona) headlamp unit for a F10051 01 Fury model?
